How to Check Which SRS Model You Have
It’s important to make sure you purchase the correct kit. If you are unsure which model of the Samsung Fridge Freezer you have you will need to check the model number as follows.
You will find the model number by opening door of the fridge and looking for a sticker that will be approximately at eye level on either of the two side walls.
Alternatively you can find a barcode sticker on the outside of the appliance on the bottom left hand side.

I have a samsung S2028CVW Fridge freezer and I’m not sure if it is worth repairing, due to it’s age, or even if your kit will fix the problem. It kept tripping the circuit breakers and blowing the electricity supply. I then noticed a terrible smell of burnt rubber from the fridge compartment and a yellowish discolouration under the tube at the botton/back of the fridge compartment. the fridge had previously been freezing up, to the extent that it was pushing the bottom drawers forward in the fridge. The water dispencer stopped working years ago. On removal of the inside panel, found the wires on the right hand side had completely melted. would you advice if this can be rectified easily or should I call it a day. I am worried that it might have been more serious and caused a fire.

I have a SRS 596 NP twin cooling fridge, with a defrost problem. Freezer is fine on -22 c, fridge ices up and then makes a noise as fan catches on ice .I have turned fridge off for 24 hours, and then turned back on. It worked fine for a little over a week, before having same problem. Will the srs kit fix this

Hi there, I have a Samsung SR-S2028DVW (2004 model) side by side fridge. Noticed a couple of weeks ago that the fridge side was warming and getting to room temperature even though the door indication was +1 degree, freezer side is fine. Googled the problem and a you-tube clip suggested I defrost the evaporator behind the plastic panel at the bottom of the fridge with a hair dryer. Followed these instructions and removed ice from the evaporator and inside panel and around the impeller recess. Put it all back together and it was fine for two days. Spent yesterday morning doing it all again and am not sure whether it has worked or not, the cool air flow is definitely less from the vents after one day. Also raised the fridge temp to +6 to see if that makes any difference, still doesn’t seem right

Hi I have an SR-S2029CSS. It has been working perfectly for many years but in the past couple of weeks it has been cooling (fridge and freezer) to the set temperature and then stopping. The temp then rises in both the fridge and freezer but this does not register on the temp readout (the temp readout stays at the set temperatures). This can easily be reset by switching it off and on again and at this point the real temp reading are shown and the fridge and freezer begins cooling again. This issue has been repeating itself since it started and although it isn’t disasterous it is annoying and will obviously become a significant problem if we go away for any length of time. Hiya, we have a SR-S2029 CSS
The freezer is warming up, the fridge is to but doesn’t seem as much. If its switched off and on again it will get back down to temp and then warm again. I’ve plugged it into a timer switch to go off four times a day, which keeps the fridge about right but the freezer is sometimes warming by 10 degrees or more.
Have had a look at the back of the fridge and freezers neither has any build up of ice behind the panels, which is not surprising considering how warm they get. The Freezer must have some kind of heat as it warms so quickly. I have turned it off for 24hours to check there was no hidden ice build-up.
I’ve run out of ideas, do you have a kit that will definitely fix the problem?

Iv been having the normal Samsung problems! fridge warm at top bottom freezing so I paid out nearly 300£ to get a kit and have it fixed but now the water bottle at the bottom of the fridge is frozen and the water has stopped?! I was told by the engeneer that the whole kit wasn’t used just 1 thermostat or sensor to tell the fridge when to defrost is this new problem linked to the kit or is he right to charge me again really apreciate your help Stuart

I recommend that you go back to the engineer who sold you the kit. We can’t possibly advise you as we don’t know what specific parts were fitted.
If you spent £300 on a kit then that is over double what we sell our kits for and we have a 100% success record.
The water bottles can be frozen at the initial time of the fault, so sometimes have already become cracked or so damaged that they do need to be replaced. That damage may not be apparent initially.
It is one matter needing to replace the water bottles in addition to having installed the repair kit, but it sounds like you are still experiencing fundamental problems which have not been remedied.
When we sell one of our kits we guarantee it will provide a remedy, but all the pats must be used. If you had purchased the repair kit form us, but then decided to only fit some of the parts, then the fault would invariably reoccur. The purpose of the kit is to replace the related parts with the latest modified ones. They all work in combination with each other. If you only fit some of the parts then you are unlikely to get a satisfactory result.
I can’t comment on your situation as it’s impossible to tell if the latest genuine parts were used.
My recommendation is to go back to the person who supplied it

Hi guys I have a samsong sr-s2229c both the fridge and freezer are not cooling but when I power of and turn on again it will cool up till the set temp but will not keep cold until I power off and on again will your kit work for my appliance

I have a Samsung American style side by side fridge freezer with temp display on freezer door and have a loud winding noise coming from it which goes away when I open the door, also have ice build up next to left hand vent inside,along with frozen veg draw. To test the true temperature in your fridge – turn the appliance off at the wall, wait for a few minutes and then turn back on – this will then display true fridge temperature.

I have Samsung fridge/freezer, Model SRS2028CSS. The temperature indicator flashes after it works for 12 hours and then it stops working. I need switch it off and then on to make it works again.
It work a longer time, about 72 hours after I switched off and dried it for 24 hours.

I turned it off to reset,and when turned on the true temperature was showing and the temperature started to fall again. All appeared to be working then only to go back a few hours later to find the temperature had risen again. Is there a fix for this problem?

I have a fridge-freezer model S2026CVW. The problem I have comes and goes in the last year or so, but becoming more frequent. What happens is that the “Vacation” feture comes on by itself with the noise of a “door open”, while the temperature display disappears, then it switches back to normal after a few seconds, but keeps repeating the same cycle contineously, sometimes for hours (The door open noise drives us mad) .
The result of this is a rise in fridge temperture as the fridge is assuming to be in “vacation” mode, leading to some food going off. Can you please advise me !!!! Thanks

Freezer is fine but the fridge temp. in the past hour hour has went down from 19 to 10 this morning and has now risen back up to 18 IN 1 HOUR!!!!
Its been like this for a few days now, lost all our food. Found a good vidoe on you tube about using a hair dryer on the left hand side but it didn’t help. Look forward to your advice!

Our Samsung Side by Side Fridge Freezer has a digital display which stays constant on the freezer side but fluctuates wildly on the fridge side. Hi , I have had my Samsung RSH1DBRS fridge / freezer switched of for 2 weeks.On restarting it the freezer will not drop down to freezing temp. I have a Samsung SR-S2029CSS. Following a power cut, the unit powered back up ok, but the control panel started switching the vacation function on and off every 5 minutes. Sometimes we could switch it back off, but it would come back on, other times none of the buttons would respond at all.
I have have checked for sticky buttons, and doesn’t appear to be the problem.
Both fridge and freezer are maintaining their correct temp and panel has stopped switching vacation on or off, but all buttons do not respond, and Ice function is switched off.
Can this be repaired?

SRS2028CVW – freezer appears ok although slightly up on temp (was -22 but now -16, fridge not working (22 room temp), water dispenser did stopworking but now ok, small ice build up around what i assume is the water channel tubing through the fridge, switched power off then on and a fault code 3 appeared on the fridge side of the display but` no code on the freezer side – temp then read -20 on freezer and 19 ( although have put ice buckets in fridge to help) on fridge.
fan was noisy a few days ago but now cannot be heard…. have cleaned excessive dust etc from fins etc underneath ……..

this is not one of the usual model numbers so I would recommend initially checking the model number. It may well be its a variation of one of the primary models. I have emailed you seperately asking for you to send us some pcitures to help identify the model, and thus a solution
