SRS Fault Finding

Note – Testing The True Temperature of your Appliance
To test the true temperature in your fridge – turn the appliance off at the wall, wait for a few minutes and then turn back on – this will then display true fridge temperature.

I have a Samsung american style fridge model SR-S2028 CVW , It keeps cutting out the digital display does not change but you can tell that the fridge and freezer compartments are getting warmer.

If I turn the power off for a few seconds then turn back on the display then changes showing actual temperatures and you then hear the fridge running and it starts to work (fridge and freezer start to cool) I may have to switch it off 2 to 3 times a day.

    Any Ideas ?

hi I have a samsung srs2028cvw. The temp display is all ok. but the unit does not run and when we switch off and on again the temperatures are to high. Do i need your repair kit or is it just the sensors?

can i buy the sensors separately or have they changed the complete section due to problems?

    Regards
    Colin

I have the same F/F which sounds like it may have developed the same fault. I have replaced the temperature sensor in the fridge but the problem continues. If possible could you tell me what actions you have taken and if it worked thanks.

You haven’t said what your problems are so I’m not in a position to give any advice. You just say your appliance may have developed the same fault… but you don’t say what the fault is!

If you look at our fault finding page http://samsungfridgefreezerproblems.co.uk/rs20-and-rsa1/srs-fault-finding/ this may help, or please come back to me with the symptoms of the fault you are experiencing and I will see if I can help further

Thanks for your response. The fridge and freezer were both working, no noise or ice build up inside, so was the water and ice maker dispenser. What was happening was the sporadic bleeping whilst at the same time on the display panel the fridge door symbol flashed and the temperature for the fridge would cycle from +7 to -1. This wouldn’t happen if the fridge lock was on though. I replaced the fridge temperature sensor (in the middle of the fridge back panel). This seems to have slowed down the amount of times that the fridge does the above sequence but now the buttons don’t work correctly, I cant change either of the temperatures settings now (fridge and freezer are working correctly according to a thermometer fridge I bought to the display temps) the lock comes on by pressing the freezer sensor only for 10 sec+, pressing the quick freeze for 10+ secs turns the display off and comes back on after a few seconds. The ice maker light is set to cube, which it does, but can’t be changed. But if I leave either door open then it bleeps as it should. I swapped back to the old sensor and that has the exact same problems so I guess I can rule out that as the problem. im not sure what to do its working, to a point, but will it fail any ideas please.

We have a Samsung Srs2028cvw fridge freezer. It continuously cheeps with lock and unlock display going on and off. All buttons on control button have stopped working. Unplug to defrost and temp in freezer goes to zero v quickly . Leaving to defrost but concerned control boards may be problem? Any ideas?

            Hello Simon

I’ve spoken with our chief engineer regarding your comments on our website and he says you could have 2 separate problems.

The defrosting part of your comments could be remedied by fitting the genuine Samsung SRS repair kit.

Our experience is once you fit the repair kit the display PCB normally corrects itself, but no always. If it doesn’t you will require a PCB to be changed too.

Our recommendation is to fit the repair kit first
