There are fundamentally two main problems you may be experiencing with your Samsung RS21 Fridge Freezer, ‘Cooling Issues’ and ‘Noise Problems’, both of which are easily fixed with our ‘Samsung RS21 Repair Kit’.

I’ve spoken with our chief engineer and from what you say you more than likely need one of our genuine Samsung RS21 Repair Kits.
What you will likely find is you have ice forming around the water bottles, which are located behind the salad drawer. Just pull it out and take a look.
If you have ice forming there then you definitely require a repair kit

I have a samsung RS 21 DABB it is 5years old and we have had no problems until now.
The fridge temp moves between -3 and 3 degrees and the beeper goes every couple of minutes, I do not have the ice problem at the back of the fridge and there are no other noises, nothing is going off or freezing and the water and ice is working fine as is the freezer which sits steady at -20.
I notice that the fridge temp button does not alter the temp and the power cool light comes on with the beeping.
I have unplugged for 15 minutes hoping it would reset but no joy, I have checked all connections and plugs and all seem clean and tight, I also checked the pcb board and can see no obvious signs of trouble.
is there anything I have missed.
The beeping is driving us crazy is there any way to stop it until we can come up with a fix.

It’s not a common problem but we’ve seen it a few times. You would need to fit a new display PCB to remedy this problem.

I’ve spoken with our chief engineer regarding your comments on our website and he says that if you have an SRS then the genuine Samsung SRS repair kit will remedy the problem. We do want you to be sure which model you have as you have left your comment on the page for the RS21 but mention your model number as SRS. They are both different models and have different repair kits. So please be sure of your model number before ordering.

after a yaer of buying our rs2nabb side by side frige freezer we recieved a letter from samsung to say the twin cooler had to be replaced which they came and replaced, now we have a problem that we get a build up of alot of ice behind this panel, which we have to turn off the frige freezer and remove the panel and use a hairdryer to get rid of all this ice build up this takes over 24 hours as the drain hole is iced up, this has happened before .please could you advice me what i can do to stop this problem thank you for your help.

hi i have a samsung rs21ncns, i was getting the noisey fan noise at the back off the fridge but the fridge and freezer was keeping there cool. i defrosted the fridge a few times, the noise kept coming and going. then it stopped making the noise all together for a few months and then out of the blue temp in the fridge went up to room temp. i have a spare fridge so i moved the food over and left the stuff in the freezer coz it seemed uneffected. after a month or so the freezer temp went up to room temp aswell. will this kit your selling fix both fridge and freezer?

I have recently purchased the samsung rs21dcns seconf hand which worked perfectly well for the 1st 3 weeks now we have no water coming through and the noise coming from the back in unbearable. This is kept in the utility room on the far side of the house. I have 2 small children so I’m wondering is there a risk of it catching fire????????? Called samsung but not under warranty any longer and given me the number for an engineer, do you know if this will be expensive to fix??????

We have an rs21dcns (mains water + ice). About 4 yrs ago, Samsung UK replaced the cooling fan system after the fan iced up and then later the electronics upgrade to prevent the fire. Unfortunately our fan appears to have failed (ice at back of fridge, no water dispensing). As we have already had the kit that you are selling, would getting it still work our do we just need a new fan?

I have a Samsung RS21 American fridge/freezer (without the chilled water/ice feature). About two weeks ago I noticed that the fridge and freezer stopped cooling altogether. The temperature on the front panel eventually reached ambient room temperature after everything thawed out. Luckily I have a spare fridge and freezer so no spoilt food! The fan works normally (switches on and off when the door is opened and closed). However, if I open then close the door to activate the fan, if I listen carefully I can hear something else electrical switching on then switching off some thirty seconds later. I imagine this is probably something to do with a temperature sensor somewhere. Does anyone know how to put this right and is it an economical repair?

Hi. I have a Samsung RS21NGRS American style fridge/freezer. A few months ago we started getting a noise from the fridge side which sounded like a fan blade vibrating. When the fridge door was opened the noise stopped. Apart from the noise the fridge and freezers both work fine and maintain temperature. I am mechanical engineer by trade and know a bit about how fridges work so I was aware the fridge has a fan circulation system so decided to investigate. I removed the lower ventilation cover at the rear inside the fridge and found the cooling radiator thick with ice and the inside of the vent panel totally solid with ice. The recirculating fan assembly sits inside this plastic vent panel and the fan blades were touching the ice as it rotated. I got a hair dryer and melted all the ice and re-assembled, and turned the fridge back on. Hey presto! no noise and the fridge seemed to work a lot better. However, that was a month ago, now the noise is back. Today I turned it off, emptied the fridge and allowed the fridge to defrost again by leaving the door open all day. Turned it back on and no noise. I looked on the internet and found your site. Does this now mean the icing up will be a regular occurance and I will need to manually defrost once a month? Will the repair kit solve the problem? Many Thanks

I have a nearly 5 year old RS21JGRS .The freezer is fine but fridge temperature light has been flashing 4 dgr and will not reset. After swiching of and on temp now reads 19 dgr. cooler draw still reads 4 dgr. I have not replaced the filter despite red light (purchased online but never arrived). what is the exact location of the segment of the LED display is flashing? The display is in a figure of eight and the position of the LED display will indicate to u what the potential problem is.
For example a common problem (I’m NOT suggesting it is the problem with your appliance) is the ice maker fault. See this picture in this link for an example.

My Fridge freezer water dispenser has stopped dispensing water. I have defrosted the whole fridge and freezer but it has made no difference
It is likely that the water bottle behind the two draws may still be frozen. If you pull the draws out and gently defrost the water bottle with hair dryer, that will allow it work in the short term, However, this is a symptom of the bigger problems associated with your model. You will find it is likely to freeze up again and stop working again, at which stage the genuine Samsung Repair kit will remedy the problem.
However right I suggest there is likely a build-up of ice stopping it working which are the early stages of other problems.
Is there a noise coming from the fridge? And is the temperature ok at the moment?

RS21DCNS fridge freezer. The fridge compartment is always iced up where the bottom 2 veg boxes are. The main problem however is the freezer won’t stay at the correct temperature, it cools down enough to make a little ice then it warms up so all the ice melts and water drips out of the ice dispenser. Any idea’s how to resolve this?

I curently have an issue with my RS21 fridge freezer. On the front display, every single light is ilumenated so there is no way of telling temp, ice type etc…
Also the ice maker is no longer producing ice, the plastic level lever is broken although i think this would just cause the ice to overflow? Would the fact no ice is being produced be caused by the display issue?

My RS12 blew a fuse in the plug, After I replaced the fuse the temp on the fridge and freezer is going up. the freezer is now at 10c (not -10) and fridge at 15c.
I know this isnt the ice/fan issue as i have dismantled the fridge and i dont see any ice.

The fridge side of my Samsung RS21JLBG1 is playing up. It doesn’t cool down anymore. It started with not delivering water from the dispenser on the freezer door about a month ago. Than today I find the temperature rising in the fridge and that there was some ice behind the two bottom drawers that i am now thawing out overnight. Does this sound like an easy fix with your repair kit or should i call out an engineer?

Mike you have not said which appliance you have. Each kit is different depending on the model. All the parts within each kit are required to be fitted. The pictures on the website give an indication of what you get. You need to install everything within the kit to get the required results
