It’s unusual that the whole display is blank. Turn off at the mains and turn back on again. Does that have any effect?
Usually there is a flashing light on one of the two 88 segments. The display is in a figure of eight and the position of the LED display will indicate what the potential problem is.

The freezer of my RS21DCNS is playing up. It intermittently goes from the -20 we have it set at to between +3 and +6 and we’re losing food because of this. There is a noise coming from the freezer side which goes away when either door is opened. Please note this is not the usual problem of the RS21 repair kit, I have already changed all that last year, this noise is definitely the freezer side.
The fault code came up with a faulty sensor in the ice maker, so I have replaced the full unit last week, but the freezer problem is still happening.
Any help appreciated.

I have a Samsung RS21DCNS. The temperature of the freezer side recently went from -23 to positive, the water flow and ice both stopped. I removed the back panel and turned the unit off over night allowing it to defrost. When turned back on, it has been working fine for a couple of weeks.
Yesterday, the same thing happened again – i noticed this as the temperature was flashing. The fridge also lost its temperature, which had been 3 degrees.
I have left emptied it, cleare dthe back panel of the fridge (was iced up) and left unplugged again over night – now when switched back on, the unit is making no noise at all – as though teh fans aren’t working, and just one LED bar lights up across the whole of the information panel.
Can you advise please ?

I have a RS21F and it is quite noisy, however although it appears to go quiet when I open the door this seems to be due to my hand preventing the vibration causing the noise.
I removed the unit inside the fridge and there was no ice build up, the fan turns without hitting anything.
Will your repair kit solve this issue?
The fridge and freezer inc water and ice works perfectly, it is just a little too noisy for my liking!

The fridge reaches the temperture set on the display. The display starts to flash and the fridge starts to loose its temperatue. If the fridge is tunred off then back on again at the plug the fridge starts to work fine until the set temperature is reached. It appears that the fridge is not restarting to cool its self once the set temperture starts to drop off. This is affecting the fridge and frezzer.

Yes it is normal as their are hot pipes situated behind the centre panel between doors .. they will get hot when compressor is on and then cool down when compressor off.

My RS21DCNS fridge temperature light is continuously flashing and the fridge is warming up.
Before this happened the fridge fan was making noise which stopped when you opened the fridge door. I then turned the fridge off for 24 hours and started it again, the fridge seemed to work fine for another week when the noise returned and then we started having the following cooling Issues,

We have a 6 year old rs21dcsv.
The fridge part is working absolutely fine. No noise,even cooling, no problems, but it might have having intermittent problems for a while before that. We are not sure.
We think our problem started when the freezer door was left open for a short while. We took advice and stripped the parts at the rear. There was a modest amount of frost on the evaporator.
After we started it up again, it worked but it struggles to get the freezer temperature below -16C Previously it has managed to maintain a very steady -23C for many years.
We suspect a faulty fan in the freezer part. Is this possible? are there other possibilities ?
