Cooling Issues

  1. Warm food and drinks on the fridge shelves
  2. Food freezing in the vegetable drawers
  3. Ice forms on the evaporator cover, behind the salad drawers normally with ice coming out of left side vent
  4. Water appears on the floor inside the fridge compartment
  5. There is NO water flow through the water dispenser

  1. Noise in fridge which stops when you open the fridge door

How to Check Which RSH1 Model You Have

It’s important to make sure you purchase the correct kit. If you are unsure which model of the Samsung Fridge Freezer you have you will need to check the model number as follows.

You will find the model number by opening door of the fridge and looking for a sticker that will be approximately at eye level on either of the two side walls.

Alternatively you can find a barcode sticker on the outside of the appliance on the bottom left hand side.

There are actually numerous combinations for the last 4 letters of the model number. As an example RSH1NHSW, RSH1DBMH, or RSH1DBBP etc are all typical model numbers that this kit can be used for.

If your Samsung RSH1 fridge freezer is a Coolzone model as distinguished by the fact it has three drawers at the bottom of the fridge instead of the standard two drawers that other RSH1 models have then you require our Genuine RSH1 Coolzone Repair Kit

The Coolzone models have a J or K after the RSH1, i.e.
• RSH1J
• RSH1K

Once again there are actually numerous combinations for the last 3 letters of the model number. For example RSH1JLAL or RSH1KGRS

    my rshdppb freezer -22 fridge stuck on 11 food warmer at top of fridge cool at the bottom ice visible above the veg shelf and water not dispensing had a compreesor and regas 7 months ago

      I just responding to the comments that you have left on our website. The changing of the compressor and re-gasing are completely unconnected with the symptoms you are now experiencing. All the problems you now have relate to your fridge not working correctly, whereas the compressor / re-gasing work you previously had carried out relate to the freezer.
      The issues you are now experiencing can be remedied by fitting the genuine RSH1 repair kit which will extend the life of your appliance.

    Have a RSH1NBRS side by side Fridge Freezer,the freezer keeps icing up for some reason an so does the fridge..

      Ive emailed you directly as I’m not sure I’m understanding your question. You are saying both the fridge and the freezer are freezing up.
      Clearly the fridge shouldn’t be freezing up, and our genuine Samsung Repair Kit is designed to remedy that problem. But it won’t fix any problems with the freezer.
      The freezer however by its nature is meant to be freezing so I am unsure what you mean by the freezer is freezing up??
      If you are simply referring to the fact you fridge is now freezer up like the freezer, and you mean the freezer is ok, but you need a fix for the fridge then the genuine Samsung repair kit is the answer.
      If you feel you have a problem with the freezer, you will need to provide more information as the freezer is designed to be freezing so from your explanation the freezer side appears to be working as designed.
      If the freezer is in fact the OK and it’s just the fridge that is freezing up when it shouldn’t then you can purchase the repair kit from this link

    Hi there. I’m from South Africa and my fridge is doing exactly what you say on your site: it started making a loud noise that quiets down when I open the door; it did that for a week or so and now its quiet; initially the temp read 18 degrees but now it reads 14 degrees (sometimes the whole display goes off with only a line appearing where the fridge temp should be!!!) My fridge model is RSH1JLMR and the model code is RSH1JLMR/XFA. I never got around to connecting the water pipes since I bought the fridge so I am not sure if that is working. Please tell me you ship to South Africa!!! :-(

    Hi I have got the same problems as others on here With the rsh1dbbp, water bottle freezing once a week and now the evaporator fan is now catching on the ice!, I have removed the panel were the fan is located and have confirmed the ice build up, as regards to the repair kit how does it reduce the ice build up? Is it just a case of an up rated electric heater for the defrost? I am a air con/ refrigeration engineer myself and it seems as tho the heater just isn’t big enough?

    Hi,
    I have RSH1NTPE and have only this symptom:
    Water appears on the floor inside the fridge compartment

    All other functions is OK – no ice, no noise, etc.

      Hello Karel
      The problem may have occurred as a result of a cracked water bottle, which is the likely cause of the water you are finding.
      You can check this by pulling out the salad drawers and looking at the water bottle behind to see if you can see any signs of cracks, or water leaking out.
      If it’s that you may get away with simply just replacing the bottle.
      While you are checking the bottle also check for any ice build-up on the rear panel. If there is an ice build-up then this will be the ultimate cause of the water in which case you will need one of the genuine Samsung RSH1 repair kits
      Even a crack in the water bottle may have been caused by an ice build-up.
      Initially check the water bottle located behind the salad drawers together with the rear panel.

    Hi, I have a Samsung RSH1DTMH and both the fridge and the freezer compartments are not cooling at all after the fuse box had blown all the lights still working but it will not let me reset the temps The water dispenses fine and the display works fine. Any ideas, would your kit work for this?

    RSH1DBRS – 4 years old. No problems before, but had some kind of power cut tonight; reset trip on electrics & now no display on unit (water still dispenses & Ice I think). Food appears to remain cold/cool. Switched off/on no joy. Just get one small light on RH 8 display (bottom RH side of it) flashing. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    My RSH 1 has no cooling, fridge and freezer side not working (all contents spoiled!)…no fan whirr noise, slight buzz noise from deep inside the cabinet…display and water dispensor still works (albeit no cooling)…any ideas to problem, will your kit cure these issues ?

    Our Samsung RSH1 fridge freezer has lost temperature on both the fridge & freezer sides causing the food to spoil/defrost.
    There was a “whiring” noise coming from the rear, which I have never heard before.
    After the fridge freezer was turned off then back on after 24hrs, it is now reaching the correct temperature….has the problem been solved?!

    Hi, my Samsung RH1 has stopped dispensing water today, and for the past few days i have noticed frozen water underneath the bottom vegetable draw.
    However the fridge temperature seems fine, all my produce are keeping cold.
    Could this be blocked pipes or does it require the repair kit? Also can you explain what causes these problems to require this repair kit?

    my samsung american rsh1bddp has no display, blinking light on the 88, the single blinking light is on the second 8 on the bottom right vertical. please can you advise asap. both internal lights work, but I need to know if its going to stay cold

      In reference to your comments on our website, there are actually two sets of 88’s.The left hand side refers to the freezer and the right side the fridge.
      Assuming you are referring to the right hand side which is the most common area of fault, then this is the fridge side. The fault code you provided, if on the right side can be remedied by fitting the genuine Samsung RSH1 repair kit.

    I have a RSH1, there seems to be no problem with the fridge but the freezer is playing up. I normally set the temp to -24 but recently it will not hold its temp dropping down to -14. If I switch the unit of for several minutes it seems to reset its self and the temp climbs back up to -24. Also there is a loud banging / vibration (like a washing machine on spin cycle) which seems to be coming from the compressor area? can you help ! Thanks

    Hi, we have a Samsung RSH1DBMH , recently did start making noises that stopped when the fridge door was opened, which has now stopped altogether,it sounded like a noisey fan?? the fridge now doesnt seem to be as cool as the reading on the front shows and seems very quiet. Can you help

    I HAVE A RSH1DBMH & THERE IS NO FLOW FROM THE CHILLED WATER. THERE IS WATER TO THE DOOR (JOINT BEHIND SKIRT AT FRONT), & YOU CAN HEAR A SOLENOID OPERATE WHEN YOU TRY FOR CHILLED WATER.THERE APPEARS TO BE NO LEAKS VISABLE, COULD THERE BE A BLOCKAGE IN THE PIPE?

      Can you confirm exactly which segment of the figure 88 display is flashing.
      The display is in a figure of eight and the exact position of the LED display will indicate to us what the potential problem is.

    I have model RSH1 DBRS and it causes my electrics to trip. There is no pattern to this. Sometimes it can be a daily occurrence and at other times weeks can pass without it happening. Any ideas?

      Its quiet unusual for the RSH1 to trip the electricity, and its caused by a combination of factors, which can be remedied by a special kit. The standard RSH1 kit is £119.99 +14.99 postage, but the modified kit which you would require to remedy the symptom you are experiencing is £159.99 +£14.99 postage.
      We don’t have a buy button on the website for it as it’s such a rare occurrence.

    Hi we have an RSH1DTMH and the display has stopped working appart from 1 flashing section on the fridge temp (top right of the second digit)
    Is this somthing you could help us with.
    For ref the power went out just before the problem occured.
    the rest of the fridge and frezzer seems to be fine. ice and water work ok too.

    the problems listed above match my Samsung Fridge/freezer’s issues and the parts look very similar but I cannot find the model number anywhere on it. Any hints? I have stripped it out and checked inside and out but not on the bottom. Please don’t make me look at it’s bottom.

    Hi. Have a Samsung RSHI. Fridge did start making a noise which stopped when the door was opened. Then a fan at the back of the fridge started making a lot of noise before going silent. Now the fridge appears to have trouble maintaining a cold temperature throughout ie parts of the fridge are warmer than they should be as things are going off eg milk in the door. Fridge still shows a low temperature reading. Suggestions for a solution would be appreciated. Thanks

    samsung fridge/freezer water occasionally leaking from inside left of fridge and temperature in fridge is too high and won’t reset, freezer is fine. There is also a build up of ice on the left vent inside fridge.

    Hi, my samsung RSH1 is currently showing temps of -18 on the freezer and 16 in the fridge. Had an engineer out who advised us to defrost the entire unit as it had become blocked up with ice & normal temp. would resume. How do i reset/set the temperature? Have tried to do it on the buttons on the fridge but it just reverts back to the temperatures previously stated. Any help you could give me would me greatly appreciated!

    I had an engineer from Samsung come to repair my Samsung Fridge/freezer Model RSH1NHSW 2-3 months ago as the temperature kept rising. That problem has been resolved but the other problem I have now is that I get water leaking at the front panel everyday. I am quite concerned as I have wooden flooring and may have to incur significant expenses if the problem continues.
